CMU, NCMC Sign Enrollment Agreement

Dr. Lenny Klaver, NCMC president, and Dr. Rita Gulstad, CMU provostOfficials from Central Methodist University traveled to Trenton, Mo. on Wednesday, May 28 for a signing event at North Central Missouri College. The two institutions of higher education formalized a concurrent enrollment agreement and re-signed an articulation agreement to further solidify an ongoing partnership between them.

On hand for the signing on behalf of CMU were Dr. Rita Gulstad, provost; Dr. Deborah Degan-Dixon, associate dean of assurance and regions; and Maile Pihana Rhorer, director of admissions for the College of Graduate and Extended Studies (CGES). The three were joined by NCMC’s president, Dr. Lenny Klaver, as well as Dr. Clarence Green, dean and director of the NCMC Savannah campus, and Dr. Tristan Londre, vice president of academic affairs.

In re-signing the articulation agreement between the schools, officials formalized their continued efforts to work together to provide students a seamless transfer from NCMC to CMU.

The concurrent enrollment agreement also signed on the day outlines the requirements of and benefits offered to students choosing to receive academic credit at both institutions simultaneously. NCMC students enrolled in courses with CMU will be able to benefit from a four-year college experience.

“With this agreement, we’re proud and excited to continue strengthening the already special relationship we have with the administration, staff, and students at NCMC,” said Degan-Dixon. “CMU is committed to enhancing that collaboration across all areas to foster our mutual growth and success.”

This agreement comes on the heels of Central’s Degree Completion – Education Pathway agreement, designed to facilitate transfers between the two institutions. The CMU and NCMC partnership also lives on through the Central Career Changers (C3) Apprenticeship program and their mutual sponsorship of the annual Teacher Energizer workshop coordinated by the Trenton School District.
