Officials from Central Methodist University and Metropolitan Community College of Kansas City signed an articulation agreement on Monday, September 28, renewing the partnership that provides a pathway for seamless transfers for MCC students pursuing four-year degrees.
The agreement provides information on the transfer of associate’s degrees in the realms of teaching, science, and applied science toward baccalaureate degrees at Central. The terms of the agreement allow for transferring students to receive many of the same benefits as native students, including access to financial aid, advising, and other student services.
Dr. Rita Gulstad, CMU provost, and Dr. Daniel Powell, vice chancellor of instruction and student affairs at MCC, signed the agreement when Powell visited Central’s Fayette campus.
“This agreement renewal is an expression of the mutual commitment between CMU and MCC to serve students in the Kansas City area by providing high quality education programs and services,” said Gulstad. “We are proud to continue to partner with MCC to offer a streamlined path to high quality degrees for students pursuing their futures.”
Following the agreement signing, Powell was treated to a tour of the campus and met with other staff in the College of Extended and Graduate Studies at Central to discuss further options and ideas.
