After performing shows for local elementary schools throughout the week, The Little Theatre will put on two public showings of The Velveteen Rabbit on Saturday, November 15 and Sunday, November 16. The Saturday performance will begin at 7 p.m., while the Sunday show begins at 1:30 p.m. on the campus of Central Methodist University.
Directed for The Little Theatre by Arielle Prince, The Velveteen Rabbit is based on the story by Margery Williams and adapted by Elise Kauzlaric. In the world of toys, life begins when humans leave the room. When one group of toys discovers a velveteen rabbit, they learn what it means to be truly loved by their owner. The Velveteen Rabbit tells the story of the unconditional love between a boy and his toy bunny and how that love makes the rabbit real.
The cast is led by Colleen Allen as The Velveteen Rabbit and Davis Conway as The Boy. Harmony Andrews plays Nana, while Liz Boyd, Owen Flores, and Gram Coalier will each be filling multiple roles.
Joining Prince in leading the crew are Jackson Krause as the assistant director/stage manager and Alaina Watson as the assistant stage manager. Additional members of the crew include Emma McLaughlin, Justyn Daigle, Nyx Sauer, Taylor Martin, Walker Lapinski, Vivian Gravitz, Meckenzie Jones, Anna Walker, Denise Boucher, Brandon Prince, Denez Bradford, Xavier Goodall, Eli Jahr, Jamesian McKee, Lane Patterson, Zyon Slade, Linus Torp Bergsvaag, Emily Moley, and Marissa Ruth.
