Central Methodist University and North Central Missouri College are once again partnering to present a free Teacher Energizer workshop on Thursday, August 1 at the NCMC campus in Trenton, Mo.
Open to K-12 educators across the state, the event will feature a keynote session presented by Dr. Beth Whitaker of the University of Missouri. The professor’s talk, entitled “Teaching Matters,” will help reignite the drive that encouraged teachers to choose education as their profession.
Breakout sessions for the day will feature a wide range of educational topics, including the special education process, supporting students with ADHD and anxiety, STEAM resources for the classroom, creativity and literacy in grades K-2, student engagement in math, and many others.
Several CMU staff members will also be on-hand for presentations, including Dr. Sally Hackman, director of teacher education; Carrie Strodtman, director of digital learning; and Dr. Kasey Leech, assistant professor of applied behavior analysis.
The one-day event is free to teachers and includes complimentary lunch. Sessions begin with the keynote at 8:30 a.m. and run through 3:35 p.m., all on the NCMC campus. Those interested in attending need to register at the following link: https://forms.office.com/r/J4FCr668cH.
An additional one-credit hour graduate credit will also be offered for a fee to those interested.
