The Central Methodist University Chorale will soon set off on its annual tour of Missouri, with Dr. Patrick Dill leading the group in celebrating 125 years of choral music at Central.
For the past 125 years, Central choirs have had a long-standing reputation of musical excellence and a time-honored tradition of providing performance opportunities for student musicians of all academic majors. Playing an essential role in the enrichment of the university’s soundscape, the CMU choirs are known for engaging audiences with repertoire that encompasses a wide range of musical styles and genres. The Chorale singers, guided by dedicated faculty, make vibrant music, life-long friendships, and enduring memories during their time as members of the CMU choral program.
The CMU Chamber Chorale is an auditioned, mixed chamber choir of undergraduates who strive for academic excellence, individual achievement, and social responsibility through their music. The Chorale performs extensively throughout the concert season and tours annually, and has proudly represented CMU with recent performances at the International Methodist General Convention, the state conference of the Missouri Music Educators Association, and the national convention of the American Choral Directors Association.
