After 11 years of working in sports information and athletic communications, Alysha Galla is beginning a new journey as the new social media specialist for Central Methodist University. She joined the marketing department this month, making the move from William Woods University.
A self-described “military brat,” Galla says she moved around enough not to have a hometown but considers Tomahawk, Wisconsin her family’s true home. She went on to attend Blackburn College in Carlinville, Illinois, and after graduating became the sports information director at Westminster College in Fulton. Several years later, she moved across town to work in athletics for William Woods.
While in Fulton, she met and married Adam Galla, who this spring was hired as Central’s head coach for men’s soccer. With an opportunity to work for the same university, Alysha joined the marketing department hoping to put her experience to use.
“Social media has always been a big piece of the line of work that I came from, and it’s a growing and important tool that, when used correctly, can really help showcase what the university has to offer,” she said. “I’m excited to get started in a new role and freshen up the social media presence at Central Methodist.”
Outside of work and getting settled into their new home in Fayette, the Gallas stay busy with soccer and raising their two young children.
