Joining the Central Methodist University staff from Chicago, Ill., Alicea Peyton is excited to be taking over as the instructional services librarian and assistant professor on campus.
A PhD graduate from Dominican University’s School of Information Studies, Peyton has authored two books and several peer-reviewed articles relating to her interests of library and information science and religion. She hopes to use her experience on these topics to spread library resource awareness and increase the digital literacy of students at Central.
As CMU’s instructional services librarian, Peyton’s main focus will be working toward an increase in the overall library engagement of students and staff. She will also assist students on topics such as library resource access, research development, writing, and research publishing.
Outside of work, Peyton enjoys writing and playing a variety of instruments, such as the clarinet and piano.
