Band Day to Feature Alumni Directors

CMU-band.jpgThe 57th annual Central Methodist University Band Day will be held on October 1, with more than 30 schools from around the state set to compete.

Schools from all classes are included in the lineup for the day of competition, which will include a parade and performances by bands, drum lines, and color guards.

The day will kick off with the parade at 9:30 a.m. in front of Swinney Conservatory. It will go down Church St., turn left at the bandstand, left again onto Main St., and end at the entrance to CMU at Main and Elm.

The parade will be followed by field competition at Davis Field at 11:15 a.m. Indoor competitions will take place in Puckett Fieldhouse with drum line starting at noon and color guard starting at 11:30 a.m. in the turf room.

The field and indoor competitions are free to enter for CMU students, faculty, and staff. Gate fee at the field for other spectators is $5.

Exhibition – Salisbury Junior High and Clark Middle School

Class 1 – Glasgow, New Haven, North Shelby, Orrick, Osage, and Sweet Springs

Class 2 – Bourbon, Crest Ridge, Eugene, Fayette, Gallatin, Harrisburg, Linn, Mid-Buchanan, New Franklin, Salisbury, Sherwood, Smithton, and Westran

Class 3 – Blair Oaks, Boonville, California, Fatima, Hallsville, Macon, and Owensville

Class 4 – Eldon, Fulton, Grandview, Kirksville, Marshall, Mexico, and Oak Grove

Class 5 – Troy Buchanan and Waynesville

Many of the schools will be led by directors who have attended or are attending Central.
