Jesse Imbierowicz may not have begun his college career at Central Methodist University, but by now he’s become a staple of the Fayette campus community. Imbierowicz graduated this month with a master’s in education and began work in the financial aid office mere days later.
The St. Charles native bounced around between schools as an undergrad before landing at Central for his fifth year, then stayed on for graduate school. He says that one of the things he’s most excited about in his new position is “just continually being a part of the school and a part of the campus.”
“It’s something I didn’t think was going to happen,” he said.
In addition to his role as the CGES financial aid specialist, Imbierowicz will continue assisting the CMU wrestling program. He says he had to “step up a lot” in the past season as Central searched for a new coach on the men’s side, and he will continue helping out with both the men’s and women’s teams.
“I’m excited about that, too,” said Imbierowicz, who will join head coaches Brieana Delgado and Sam Schmitz. “I just want to be another pair of hands to help them.”
As for his master’s of education and his future, Imbierowicz says he wants to someday become a high school shop teacher. In the meantime, he’ll stay busy with Central and with his hobbies of fishing, playing video games, and visiting his family.
