The parents of Central Methodist University students are sure to know more this fall about Fayette and CMU news and sports than ever before.
CMU is purchasing online subscriptions to the Fayette Advertiser for each Fayette campus student to help keep families better connected – with coverage of student news and achievements, as well as CMU sports activities.
Whether it’s the new piece of artwork in the Ashby-Hodge Gallery, the soccer teams’ quest to return to the national tournament, or the dean’s list, you’ll find it in the Fayette Advertiser.
Vice President for Enrollment Management Joe Parisi said CMU wants to make sure students’ families have the opportunity to keep up with the latest news in Fayette and follow CMU news and Eagle sports coverage.
“The paper does a great job covering the town and covering CMU,” Parisi said. “I really think the parents will appreciate this gesture and be even more engaged.”
Parisi said that parents’ interest levels in their kids’ college life is higher than ever before.
“We’ve got a record-breaking freshman class coming in, and the parents really want to know what’s happening,” he said. “We’ve got a ton of great fall activities planned for the fall.”
The newspaper will email students with instructions to access their subscription before classes begin on Monday, Aug. 23.
