Katie Timbrook of Sarcoxie, Mo. has recently been named a Spring 2021 winner of a Gulstad Achievement Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded each semester to as many as five deserving students transferring into Central Methodist University’s College of Graduate and Extended Studies (CGES).
Timbrook has been accepted into CMU’s RN-BSN program and hopes to become a pediatric nurse practitioner or a midwife. At Crowder College in Joplin, she served as a member of the Student Nursing Association and is a member of Phi Theta Kappa. She is also currently employed at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, and in her free time enjoys doing puzzles, volunteering as a Mighty Mite cheer coach, and is planning a wedding.
The $1,000 Gulstad Award is named after longtime CMU provost Dr. Rita Gulstad and was established to provide scholarship funds to qualified community college students who would like to continue their education through Central.
