Partnership Helps Students Earn Four-Year Degree

Central Methodist University’s long and highly-regarded partnership with Moberly Area Community College has grown even stronger – and students will benefit from a new partnership called CentralMACC.

Dr. Joe Parisi, vice president for enrollment management at CMU, said the most significant elements to the co-enrollment program are encouragement of degree completion, enhanced academic advising, a clear process for transfer credits, and increased campus involvement. Students can live on Central’s campus and be a part of the community before becoming full-time.

“In the end, it’s all about making things easier for students,” Parisi said. “This agreement recognizes that, and takes steps to help achieve a four-year degree.”

Parisi said the partnership stresses quality academic advising between the student, CMU, and MACC to ensure course transferability and a mutual understanding of academic major requirements at CMU.

In addition, the partnership provides access to the CMU honors program for qualified MACC students, and allows MACC students to attend CMU events at a discounted rate. It also provides for cooperation between the two schools in student development activities, clubs, and intramural sports.

“It’s an easy application process,” said Parisi. “We’re very excited for students to take advantage of all the program has to offer.”
