Justin Schroder of Florence, Mo. has recently been named the second Gulstad Achievement Scholarship winner of the spring from State Fair Community College. The scholarship is awarded each semester to as many as five deserving students transferring into Central Methodist University’s College of Graduate and Extended Studies (CGES).
Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business management, Schroder says his goal is to work as a GIS (geographic information system) mapping administrator at a rural electric company. He is well on his way to his goals, having earned the 2019 Excellence in Calculus Award from SFCC and a 4.0 grade point average. The $1,000 Gulstad scholarship toward tuition will be one more important step in achieving his dream.
The Gulstad Award is named after longtime CMU provost Dr. Rita Gulstad and was established to provide scholarship funds to qualified community college students who would like to continue their education through Central.
