Little Prince Coming to Little Theatre

The latest play coming to the Little Theatre is an adaptation of a timeless classic, The Little Prince, coming to the stage at the beginning of March.

The spring performance will be guest directed by Christopher Oliver and will be shown to a live theatre audience and on an online livestream from March 11-14. Shows will be at 12:45 p.m. on Thursday, 10 a.m. on Friday, and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Each will have limited seating in the Little Theatre open to the CMU campus community only. The 1:30 p.m. show on Sunday will have seating by invitation only.

Based on the classic work by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Aaron Randolph's masterful adaptation of The Little Prince tells the tale of The Aviator, whose plane crashes in the desert and, while working to rebuild his plane, encounters the curious Little Prince. The mysterious Prince tells The Aviator about his travels throughout the cosmos, and through his journeys, we begin to realize that perhaps The Aviator's real struggle is not the desert at all.

Playing the roles of The Aviator and The Little Prince will be Katelyn Watts and Cole Nowlin, respectively. Also in the cast are Emily Gann as Rose, Tabitha Ott as Fox, DJ Jordan as The Snake and The King, Anna Geurkink as The Businessman and The Geographer, Colby Vincent as The Conceited Man, and Kayla Wainscott as The Lamplighter.

On the technical side of the production, Poppy Garner will be the assistant director and stage manager, while Harley Dohrmann is the assistant stage manager and in charge of props. Professor Lonna Wilke will serve as scenic and lighting designer and Terri Rohlfing is the costume designer. Other members of the tech crew are Amanda Schrivener, Eric Lotz, Ben Pilger, Jaiden Preston, Samantha Cox, Alex Sauer, Lexi Begemann, Kara McQuerrey, Dale Dowse, Rob Brown, Dalton Myler, Martin Hynick, Jesus Pena, Hailey Sage, Blessed Kisakye, and Kona Asi.
