The 2019-2020 recipient of the Omicron Delta Kappa Outstanding Staff Member Award, as voted by students, is Lynette Beeler. A previous employee of the Fayette school district, Beeler has been in her position as administrative assistant for the Central Methodist University music department since January 2015. This is her first time winning the award.
“Students selecting me for this award hopefully reflects that they know how much I care about them and want to be helpful in any way possible,” said Beeler. “Students are why we are all here. It blesses me to know that they consider me an important part of the support system that is preparing them to successfully fly out of the nest.”
In addition to being appreciative of the students for their recognition, Beeler is also looking forward to navigating “a lot of unknowns” with them as the new semester begins.
“I look forward to walking through this with them, encouraging them to look for the positives and to be a part of the solutions to challenges,” she said. “Frankly, I am looking forward to seeing them. March was a long time ago and I missed them!”
The Outstanding Staff Award, established in 1996, is awarded to a non-administrator, full-time CMU employee annually by Omicron Delta Kappa Central Methodist Circle, CMU’s chapter of the national leadership society.
