The start of a new semester at Central Methodist University brought a handful of new hires in plant operations, where the new faces join a team responsible for keeping the campus clean and running smoothly.
Among the half-dozen new members of the housekeeping staff are Mikhaila Hickam and Clayton Suhrbier, who each joined the team in the spring. Hickam currently spends most of her time working in Holt Hall, keeping the building clean and orderly on a day to day basis. Prior to her time at CMU, she worked in nursing. Suhrbier, a former handyman and small business owner, works mainly in the Philips-Robb Recreation Center.
Also new to the housekeeping team is Kiera Bush, who began her new job with plant ops in early July after working nine months in the kitchens with Fresh Ideas. Her new responsibilities include cleaning restrooms and entryways and collecting trash in Inman Student Center.
Tim “TJ” Hickam is another new member of the staff, having started at CMU about two months ago. Hickam, whose main work area is the Burford residential hall, joined the plant ops team after working as an assistant manager at Sonic.
The newest members of the housekeeping staff are Judy Korte and John Will, who each began work the last week of August. Korte’s new responsibility is Smiley Library, where she works collecting trash, cleaning restrooms, vacuuming and cleaning floors, cleaning tables, and other tasks to keep the library looking nice. Will, who does much of the same work in McMurry Hall, is a recent CMU graduate. A member of the class of 2019, he majored in interdisciplinary studies.
Each new employee has been hard at work for plant operations and are vital members of the team that keeps Central looking great.
