Navy SEAL To Speak Sept. 10: Integrity, Leadership

Rick KaiserMaster Chief Rick Kaiser, a retired U.S. Navy SEAL Team 6 member who serves as executive director of National Navy SEAL Museum in Fort Pierce, Fla., will visit Central Methodist University September 10 to speak to students about leadership and integrity.

Kaiser, who spent 26 years as a SEAL, will deliver his public address at 7 p.m. at the Linn Memorial United Methodist Church. The event is being sponsored by the Department of Criminal Justice.

Kaiser is widely known for handling communications May 2, 2011 when SEAL Team 6 raided the compound of Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden and killed him, ending a 10-year search for the mastermind of the Sept. 11, 2001 attack on the United States that took nearly 3,000 lives.

But Kaiser had many other accolades during his SEAL career, including the Silver Star Medal for Valor in 1993 during the Battle of Mogadishu (Black Hawk Down). He was a sniper, explosives expert, lead training Chief, sniper team leader, and Deputy Operations Officer.

Kaiser continues to serve his country and fellow SEALs by helping to educate others about the SEALs and further the Frogman heritage in his role at the museum. He and his wife, Barbara, have two children and live in Vero Beach, Fla.

Kaiser’s appearance is free and open to the public.
