It is almost time to celebrate a major academic accomplishment for approximately 40 Central Methodist University students who have been studying in Union through Central’s College of Graduate and Extended Studies (CGES).
A Commencement ceremony will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 6 at 7 p.m. in the John Edson Anglin Performing Arts Center (ECC Theater).
Graduates include students who have studied education, criminal justice, computer science, business, accounting, nursing, and psychology. Both baccalaureate and master’s degrees will be announced.
Delivering the Commencement address will be Mark Moebius, who is an ordained minister and graduate of the Broadcast Center, a vocational school in St. Louis that trains individuals wanting to pursue careers in radio/television. Moebius began his career in broadcasting and nearly 10 years later started the Millionaire Development Marketing and Advertising Firm with customers as far away as France.
With the success of this business, he was able to start Jireh Ministries in 2013, which now has its own radio station. He also started a Safe Kids program in Franklin County, the Taylor House for homeless women, and the Care Portal, which connects churches and government agencies.
He is now in the process of developing a multimillion-dollar training center designed to help adults age 18-25 coming out of foster care and dysfunctional family situations.
