First-Ever Alumni Choir Concert Happening April 6

Central Methodist University is offering a new way for alumni to get together and reconnect with all the great memories they made as Central students.

Central’s Swinney Conservatory of Music, along with the Advancement and Alumni Relations Department, will host CMU’s first-ever Alumni Choir Concert – scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 6. 

Alumni of Central’s choirs from every generation are invited to CMU for a day of rehearsals and memories, as well as an evening concert at 7 p.m., which will be open to the public in Linn Memorial United Methodist Church. 

Jana Fox, a 1982 Central graduate and the current director of choirs at Helias Catholic High School in Jefferson City, has been selected as the first guest conductor for the alumni choir. Fox is a longtime respected choral director, and was selected as the recipient of the 2018 Outstanding Educator Award by the Missouri Music Educators Association. 

On the day of the event, registration will begin at 8 a.m. and rehearsal will start at 9 a.m. All gatherings will take place in Linn Memorial UMC. The cost is $15 and first-year graduates can participate for free. Participants may register at alumni.centralmethodist.edu. Registration is encouraged by Friday, March 29, but walk-ups on the day of will still be accepted.
