A university’s success is based around student enrollment, so it’s a tremendous help for its employees to have an understanding of the admissions process and what prospective students are looking for.
Central has found these qualities and more in Elizabeth Kirby, originally from Milwaukee, Wis., who recently began her journey with CMU as its new associate director of admissions.
In this role, Kirby works under the direction of Vice President for Enrollment Management Dr. Joe Parisi.
“Elizabeth has strong experience in outreach, recruiting, and event planning. Her abilities will greatly benefit our Office of Undergraduate Admissions,” Parisi said. “She mirrors CMU’s culture by being driven by innovation and next-level thinking, and she brings an energy and passion to the job that will make her a vital part of our team.”
Kirby will work to locate, identify, and recruit prospective students and their families for the purpose of enrollment. She will provide professional support for undergraduate admission operations while managing the life cycle of admission files and records for undergraduate applicants, and assist with the supervision, operations, and enrollment management systems.
“I am excited to join Central and be part of a university that is moving forward,” Kirby said.
Prior to joining Central Methodist, Kirby was a walk manager at Alzheimer’s Association in Columbia. Before that, she was a senior enrollment advisor for Ottawa University in Ottawa, Kan., where she managed the recruitment of high school students in 12 states. She also worked with both undergraduate and graduate international students in areas of admission, immigrations, customs, and adjusting to life in the United States.
Kirby currently lives in Moberly with her husband, Alex Kirby, and their four dogs. Her first day at CMU was Monday, Feb. 25.
