Learning about campus life is one of the most exciting parts of going to college. Central Methodist University is planning an opportunity for prospective students and their families to discover the options that are available.
Experience Central Day will take place on Saturday, Oct. 20. Hosted by Central’s Office of Admissions, the day will showcase information about various student organizations, Greek Life, athletic teams, academic majors, and groups on campus.
There is no charge, and all prospective students are welcome to attend. Upon arrival, attendees should register at 10 a.m. in the Jacobs Conference Center on the fourth floor of the Inman Student and Community Center.
Jennifer Shepard, associate director of admissions, said, “this is an opportunity for students to come and receive a glimpse of what it is like to be a CMU student, but also to learn a little bit about what CMU is and how exciting we are.”
Prospective students and parents will have the chance to hear from Dr. Joe Parisi, vice president for enrollment management, participate in a faculty showcase, and learn more about Digital U, Central’s initiative which provides iPads and digital learning to all students. Visitors will then attend an organization fair to inquire more about how to join groups and organizations at CMU.
Lunch will be available at 12:30 p.m., and a CMU vs. Missouri Valley College football game, which kicks off at 2:30 p.m., will close the day.
