With many years of professional experience in education, Tim Holmes, from Defiance, is the newest addition to the Central Methodist University admissions team.
Holmes was recently hired as a CMU regional admissions representative, with his assigned territory being the St. Louis/St. Charles County area, according to Dr. Joseph Parisi, vice president for enrollment management at CMU.
In his position, Holmes will work to recruit prospective students within his focus area, and regularly communicate with these students and their families. Additionally, he will strengthen relationships with various high school representatives, and spend time traveling to college fairs and other special events.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to not only stay connected to kids, but a continuation of what I love – being able to listen to them and help them make good decisions,” Holmes said.
Before joining CMU, Holmes was an assistant principal and guidance counselor for 24 years in the Francis Howell School District. He is a former high school coach. He also spent time as a regional sales manager with Armour Swift-Eckrich, Inc.
Holmes has a bachelor’s degree in physical education and a master’s degree in education counseling from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. He is a member of the Missouri Association for College Admissions Counseling.
“I know Tim’s background and his commitment to young people,” said Parisi. “His down-to-earth approach is a magnet for young people. He’s genuine and authentic, and we are elated to have him be a part of our team to continue to grow our presence in the St. Louis and St. Charles County region.”
