As it does every spring, Central Methodist University’s Division of Business, Accounting, and Economics recently recognized students for extraordinary academic achievements.
Awards were presented to 13 students during a Business Division Honors Banquet, which was held Thursday, April 26, on CMU’s main campus in Fayette, according to Division Chair Julie Bennett.
Because they demonstrated outstanding work in the fields of accounting, finance, business management, economics, international business, marketing and advertising, entrepreneurship, and leadership, the following students were recognized:
Marina Alves, a senior business major from Belo Horizonte, Brazil, received the Management/General Business Excellence Award; David Baranski, a senior business major from Ballwin, received both the Banking and Finance Excellence Award, and an ENACTUS Senior Leadership Award; Abby Cross, a senior business major from Osborn, received the Outstanding Senior in Business Award;
Andrea De Simone, a sophomore business major from Genova, Italy, received the Shallenburger Accounting Principles Excellence Award; Bailey Dunham, a senior business major from Eldon, received the Susan Estill Award for Total Business Excellence;
Brooke Emmerich, a junior accounting major from Prairie Home, received the Accounting Excellence Award; Jarrid Hamilton, a senior accounting major from High Ridge, received the Outstanding Senior in Accounting Award;
Caitlyn Harwell, a senior business major from East Prairie, received both the Marketing and Advertising Excellence Award, and an ENACTUS Senior Leadership Award; Shelby Henson, a junior business major from Piedmont, received the Estill Entrepreneurship Award;
Alexandra Hudelson, a junior accounting major from Old Monroe, received the Lisa Powell Goessling Merit Scholarship; Clay Littrell, a senior business major from Glasgow, received the Gentry Estill Award for Total Business Excellence;
Brooke Striegel, a junior religion and church leadership major from Holts Summit, received the Noble Emmett Baskett Scholarship in Business Award; and Abby Thompson, a senior sports management major from Glasgow, received the Outstanding Senior in Sports Management Award.
