'All In For Central' Makes Giving Personal

Central Methodist University is excited for alumni and friends to have an opportunity to not only make an impact on CMU, but to personalize their contributions.

The “All In For Central” campaign, which will run April 5-21, focuses on how philanthropic giving can meet many of the University’s specific needs, so those who donate have the satisfaction of knowing exactly what their money is going toward.

The campaign was vastly successful last spring. Focusing on donor participation, CMU’s Board of Trustees agreed to contribute an additional $100,000 toward the Central Annual Scholarship Fund if 1,854 individuals donated. Central chose 1,854 because it meant an increase in giving participation, and the University was established in 1854. Contributors exceeded the goal, with 1,984 unique donors stepping up – securing the $100,000 gift.

This year, there’s a little something for everyone to get excited about. Specific items donors can go “all in” for include everything from white boards, chairs, and desks for the nearly-complete Stedman Hall of Science, to couches for the Center for Learning and Teaching, and gaming stations for eSports, to costume fabric for Theatre students – only to name a few.

“All In For Central provides a unique opportunity for supporters to pick a project across campus that makes a tangible difference and directly helps our students,” said Josh Jacobs, vice president of advancement and alumni relations.

The items and areas in which one can contribute can be viewed at www.GivetoCentral.org, or a catalog can be requested by contacting CMU’s Advancement and Alumni Department at 660-248-6232.
