Central Methodist University recently held its second annual “All In for Central” campaign, which focused on philanthropic giving to meet some of the University’s tangible needs.
Nearly 170 individuals made gifts during the challenge, with support totaling $135,507 in gifts during the campaign period, according to Dr. Josh Jacobs, vice president of advancement and alumni relations.
“Due to the generosity of our supporters, All In for Central gifts are still coming in the mail from folks across the country,” Jacobs said. “Their support will meet needs inside and outside the classroom to benefit the student experience at Central.”
The campaign offered alumni and friends of Central an opportunity to choose from items identified by faculty, staff and students, which allowed them to personalize their donations.
Options included everything from white boards, chairs, and desks for the nearly-complete Stedman Hall of Science, to couches for the Center for Learning and Teaching, and gaming stations for the new eSports team, to costume fabric for Theatre students.
“The concept behind the annual All In for Central initiative is simple: we cannot achieve anything alone,” Jacobs said. “It takes all of us – alumni, friends, faculty, staff, and students – to realize the highest potential for the future of CMU."
According to Jacobs, the campaign’s main focuses surrounded student scholarships, technology, Stedman Hall of Science, academic support and tutoring, library needs, eSports, music, theatre, Career Development, and outdoor campus improvements.
Gifts in support of the All In for Central categories can still be made online, or can be mailed to Central Methodist University, Attn: Advancement, 411 Central Methodist Square, Fayette, Mo., 65248.
