Visual appeal and brand consistency are top priorities in higher education recruitment, and Central Methodist University’ marketing team this week welcomed a talented graphic designer and videographer to the marketing team, Joe Waner.
Waner’s broad skill set and calm demeanor are a perfect fit for Central, said Scott Queen, CMU’s marketing and communications director.
“Joe just doesn’t get rattled,” Queen said. “He can work on multiple projects at a time, juggling revisions from multiple people. His talents are very impressive.”
For the last three years, Waner has worked at Inside Columbia Magazine, where he served as art director and graphic designer. He is a photographer and videographer, and also has experience in large format building graphics.
“Central’s a great place and offers a friendly atmosphere,” Waner said. “It’s a very collegial, welcoming environment. So many people have stopped by to introduce themselves and say hello.”
Waner earned a B.S. in graphic design from Columbia College in 2013. He and his wife, Andrea, have one child and live in Columbia.
