With Christmas looming, Central Methodist University is presenting a series of musical events to celebrate the season. One of the favorite events is the Sigma Alpha Iota (SAI), women’s music fraternity’s, Christmas concert.
SAI’s concert will be held in Linn Memorial Church on the Fayette CMU campus on Thursday, Dec. 7, at 7:30 p.m. Its favorite status comes in part from the fact that many people are involved and myriad groups perform. The concert tends to blend traditional and innovative, sometimes humorous, music.
The concert will consist of both singing and instrumental performances by current and graduate SAI students and faculty from the musical department. Members of Beta Mu Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, the men’s music fraternity, will join in multiple places, as they always do.
The concert will be free and open to everyone. There is, however, always a love donation welcomed that goes to a needy school music program where an SAI alumna teaches.
