Central Methodist University will soon award one hard-working, worthy individual with a scholarship that will make paying for college much less of a concern.
Twice a year, Central hosts an Eagle Select Scholarship competition, which delivers a four-year, full tuition scholarship to one high school senior who will begin at CMU the following fall. The scholarship is valued at almost $90,000, according to Dr. Joseph Parisi, vice president for enrollment management at CMU.
The competition will take place on Thursday, Nov. 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Inman Student and Community Center’s Jacobs Conference Center on the Central Methodist University campus.
Current high school seniors with an ACT score of 26 or above, and a 3.5 cumulative grade point average are eligible to apply, and there is no cost or fee to compete, according to Parisi.
The Eagle Select Competition tests participants’ verbal, written, and mathematical skills. Business professional attire is recommended for competitors, though it’s not required. Family members are welcome to come along, and special programming for them will be offered during the contest.
