As the end of Central Methodist University’s Campaign for the Heart of Central draws near, CMU’s Advancement and Alumni Relations Department is offering the public a chance to leave their mark on campus.
In 2014, CMU began a comprehensive campaign to increase scholarships and advance the sciences. Since then, the new Thogmorton Center for Allied Health has been completed, annual scholarship support has increased by 50 percent, and an approximately $10 million full renovation of Stedman Hall of Science is underway, according to Dr. Josh Jacobs, vice president for advancement and alumni relations.
As part of Stedman’s renovation, the public is being offered an opportunity to partner with CMU to place one’s name, or the name of a loved one, at the heart of campus. Personalized bricks will accent the new walkway crossing the quad to the front of the new Stedman Hall of Science, which is slated to open for classes in the fall of 2018.
“Customized bricks provide everyone in the extended Eagle Community an opportunity to participate in this transformational project,” Jacobs said. “We are grateful for the outpouring of support and look forward to welcoming students back into the new Stedman Hall.”
Those wishing to name a brick can do it for oneself, one’s family, or even in honor of a graduate, professor, coach, organization, or church. Brick sponsorship opportunities include gifts of either $100 or $200, Jacobs said.
There are several options for engraving and brick sizes. Brick orders should be completed by January 16, 2018.
