Linnemann Named Assistant Director Of Development

Amanda LinnemannUnderstanding a workplace from multiple angles is a great benefit that can often lead to long-term success. This is true for Amanda Morrow-Linneman, from Fayette, who through her personal life, academic experiences, and career knows many of the ins and outs of Central Methodist University.

Linneman has been named Assistant Director of Development in CMU’s Advancement and Alumni Relations Department, according to Dr. Josh Jacobs, vice president for advancement and alumni relations.

Linneman is transitioning to the new role after working in the Technology Services Department since 2015.

As Assistant Director of Development, Linneman communicates with alumni, donors, and other members of the CMU community in support of the University. She engages with donor prospects through written communication, phone calls, social media, and face-to-face visits – all with the goal to better benefit CMU’s personal relationships and growth.

“When this position came open, I learned it would allow me to work with alumni and friends of Central,” Linneman said. “This got my attention, because I love talking to people; I don’t know a stranger.”

In her former role as User Support Specialist for CMU’s Technology Services, Linneman was the face and voice of the Help Desk – frequently assisting students, faculty, and staff with technological issues and concerns.

Before her time at CMU, she acquired significant professional experience as a pharmacy technician, having worked for pharmacies in both Fayette and Columbia for about eight years.

Linneman attended Moberly Area Community College, and later began an online course of study through CMU. She was determined to obtain her Bachelor’s degree even with her busy lifestyle, working full-time and raising young children.

So, she soon began a new academic journey taking online classes with the support of her husband and children. And now, after many long days of work and evenings of study, Linneman anticipates receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Educational Studies in December of this year.

Born and raised in Fayette, Linneman said Central has always held a special place in her heart. She even has memories of being a child and attending Linn Memorial United Methodist Church on the Fayette campus.

The new Assistant Director of Development said she looks forward to what comes next, and is excited to make new memories while experiencing the benefits CMU offers from a fresh perspective.

“What I love about Central is the rich history it holds, along with the bright future it offers to so many students,” Linneman said. “I am truly excited to work with alumni and friends of CMU to help support our future. Together, we can make many dreams come true.”
