Psychology Honor Group Adds Students, Chooses Officers

As the Psychology Department begins its new school year, it has several new honor students to include in its ranks at Central Methodist University in Fayette.

At the end of the spring semester, PsiChi, the International Honor Society in Psychology inducted five new members, Terri Banderet, Amelia Ebbesmeyer, Joseph “Drew” Tillman, Kylie Tillman, and Amanda Hutchins.

Banderet is a senior biology major from Saint Louis, Mo.; Ebbesmeyer is a senior psychology major from Armstrong; Joseph “Drew” Tillman is a junior psychology major from Rogersville; Kylie Tillman is a junior psychology major from Fayette; and Hutchins is a senior psychology major from Wasilla, Alaska.

The officers for 2017-18 include Kylie Tillman, president; Drew Tillman, vice president; and Elizabeth Maddex, secretary. Maddex is senior psychology major from Bunceton.

The mission of PsiChi is to encourage excellence in scholarship in the field of psychology. To be nominated for admittance, students must be majoring or minoring in psychology, have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) in the upper third of their class and have a minimum GPA of 3.0 across their psychology courses.

Central’s sponsors for PsiChi are Dr. Jacqueline Anson, assistant professor of psychology, and Dr. Elizabeth Gold, associate professor of psychology.
