Student Jordan Lane Returns From Abroad

Jordan LaneSummertime was filled with moments of enlightenment and wonder for Central Methodist University student Jordan Lane, who recently experienced great adventures in Italy and Switzerland.

The Marshall native traveled solo to study abroad, leaving May 21 and beginning his journey home on July 27. When he began his trip in Italy, he met up with other students in the same program – Missouri Study Abroad Intercollegiate Consortium (MOSAIC), coordinated through Maryville University in St. Louis.

Involved in two separate programs, Lane fulfilled one month in Italy and one month in Switzerland, visiting noteworthy places including the Amalfi Coast, Florence, the Swiss Knife Valley, and multiple towns in Italy.

He ended his Italian journey in Rome, and then took a train to Lugano Switzerland – where he remained for the final five weeks.

“The trip was amazing,” Lane said. “I got a full semester worth of college credit.”

Lane said he’s been curious about the world since he was a child, and has always wanted to travel and explore. He first noticed this desire in high school, when he would plan fantasy vacations for his family.

“I realized I wanted to be just like my grandfather, and make the most out of life,” he said. “I followed through with this, and now I’ve been to seven different countries.”
