Central Methodist University Athletics will officially begin hosting a designated tailgating zone starting this fall for the first time in school history with the Eagle Tailgate Zone.
“This year, Central Methodist University will be allowing responsible tailgating prior to all home football games,” Vice President for Institutional Growth and Student Engagement Ken Oliver stated. “CMU encourages responsible tailgating in an effort to enhance the game day experience, and to ensure a safe atmosphere to all fans, while preserving the beauty of the entire campus.”

Eagle Football Tailgating Zone Policies and Procedures
Central Methodist University encourages responsible tailgating in an effort to enhance the game day experience, ensure a safe atmosphere to all fans and preserve the beauty of the entire campus.
Responsible tailgating is available for all CMU fans prior to home football games. The EAGLE Tailgate Zone, located off of Mulberry Street in the northeast football game day parking lot, is the designated location for tailgating.
- Everyone must have a game day football ticket to enter the Eagle Tailgate Zone. Game tickets will be sold at the entrance of the tailgate. Adults-$8, Children-$5, CMU Faculty, Staff (families) and Students are free. CMU Faculty, Staff and Students also must have a ticket to enter the Eagle Tailgate Zone and game.
- The EAGLE Tailgate Zone opens two hours before kickoff and closes 10 minutes before the start of game. (No half-time or post game tailgating is allowed)
- Alcohol is only permitted in the EAGLE Tailgate Zone on home football game days and only during the designated times.
- Groups, organizations, clubs and individuals may reserve single game spots (parking or tent) or a season pass (6 games). Season Pass-$110 and Single Game-$20
- Tailgate spaces in the tailgate area are limited to a maximum of 1 vehicle per space. Tent spaces are available behind the tailgate parking lot, weather permitting. Tent space-$20
- You are responsible for the clearing of all trash from your reserved spot before you leave.
- No open pit fires are allowed. Fires must be contained to a grill. Pets are NOT allowed! Service animals are an exception to these guidelines.
- All state laws are applicable to CMU and to all individuals on the property of the College.
- The EAGLE Tailgate Zone is monitored by Commissioned Fayette/Missouri Police Officers.
- Tailgate parties must monitor their service of alcohol and may not serve alcohol to minors (under 21.) Unattended alcohol will be confiscated. Everyone 21 or older must have an official game day wrist band in order to consume alcohol.
- All beverages must be in cans or plastic containers. Alcohol drinking games, funneling or any other games deemed inappropriate by the University are prohibited. Alcohol drinking game apparatus, kegs, beer pong balls or other common source containers are prohibited. No glass bottles. The sale of alcohol is prohibited.
- If alcoholic beverages are served, Tailgaters must also serve an adequate amount of food or alternative beverages in the same location as alcoholic beverages.
- Individuals, groups, and organizations holding or participating in tailgate parties are responsible for their own conduct and are expected to respect the rights of others and the entire Central Methodist University community. Groups holding tailgate parties are responsible for providing their own designated drivers.
- All Eagle Tailgate Zone participants are expected to respect and follow all policies and procedures.

Remaining spots are available on a first come, first served basis on game days.
At its discretion, Central Methodist University may terminate tailgate parties, or take other appropriate action against individuals, groups, or organizations whose conduct is irresponsible, unreasonable, or inconsistent with Central Methodist University policies and regulations, ordinances or laws.
Eagle Athletics and CMU are not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged personal property. All tailgating spaces and/or personal items should be attended at all times to prevent issues from arising.
If policies are not followed, those in violation may lose privileges for the remainder of the season.
