For the third consecutive year, Central Methodist University’s Swinney Conservatory of Music will present a showcase of piano musicians in a joint recital.
The recital will be held on Sunday, Feb. 12, at 4 p.m. in the Willie Mae Kountz Recital Hall on the Fayette campus. There is no admission charge.
The recital will showcase piano students from the studios of Dr. Barb Berwin, professor of music, and Dr. Melissa Simons, assistant professor of music.
Students included are Miranda Weigand (sophomore chemistry major from Weatherby); Malik Hughes (sophomore music major from St. Joseph); Haley Thoma (sophomore music education major from Boonville); Brendan Wiesehan (sophomore music education major from Villa Ridge);
Amy Keene (junior music education major from Fulton); Ani Milovich (sophomore music education major from Catawissa); Katelyn Hanvey (senior music education major from Centralia); Mikaela Lewis (sophomore music education major from Harrisburg); and Leah Trammell (senior music education major from Union).
Performing with the students will be Dr. Berwin, Dr. Simons, Mrs. Janet O’Neill, and Mrs. Ruth Spayde.
The program will include works by Faure, Schumann, Chabrier, Gershwin, Schubert, Diabelli, and other composers.
The works are scored for one piano four hands, two pianos four hands, one piano six hands, and two pianos eight hands.
