While deciding on a college major, many college-bound students already know they want a career in a health-related field. But trying to decide exactly what profession they want to pursue is not always simple.
Central Methodist University’s Allied Health Day is designed to help provide answers about these in-demand, well-paying careers.
The event is sponsored by CMU’s Office of Admission, and is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 23, with registration at 10 a.m. on the fourth floor of the Inman Student and Community Center on CMU’s Fayette campus.
Those who attend will have the opportunity to absorb information helpful in understanding CMU health-related majors: athletic training, nursing, physical therapist assistant, and occupational therapy assistant.
A tour of facilities, hands-on activities, and the chance to speak with faculty will be offered. Prospective students will receive answers to their questions, and learn more about specific areas of study that match their interests.
“Having a day dedicated to allied health gives us a chance to offer students the chance to explore while connecting with our amazing faculty,” said Adam Jenkins, director of Admissions at CMU.
According to Jenkins, some of the highest needs for the job market are in these health concentrations, and Allied Health Day is a great way for students to engage each major, and walk away with a new understanding of each major’s distinction, importance, and opportunity.
