Central Methodist To Host Scholarship Competition

One of the toughest parts about going to college – paying for it – won’t be a concern for one new Central Methodist University student next fall following CMU’s Eagle Select Scholarship competition on Thursday, Feb. 2.

That student will receive a four-year, full-tuition scholarship valued at almost $90,000 to attend CMU in Fayette next August. Many other participants will be awarded additional scholarships, too, according to CMU Director of Admission Adam Jenkins.

Current high school seniors with an ACT score of 26 or above and a 3.5 cumulative grade point average are eligible to sign up, and there is no cost or fee to compete, Jenkins said. Registration deadline is Monday, Jan. 30.

Jenkins recommends business professional attire for competitors, though it’s not required. Family members are welcome to come along; special programming for them will be offered during the contest.

The Eagle Select competition tests participants’ verbal, written, and mathematical skills. To register, students can go to go.centralmethodist.edu/eagleselect. Questions can be directed to the CMU Admission Office at 660-248-6251 or admissions@centralmethodist.edu.
