Central Methodist Joins Three Rivers-Sikeston

A fourth partnership between Three Rivers College (TRC) and Central Methodist University (CMU) begins in Sikeston next month, offering area residents multiple opportunities for bachelor’s and master’s degrees.

TRC and CMU first developed transfer agreements on the Three Rivers main campus in Poplar Bluff in 2008. CMU joined TRC-Dexter last fall, and recently announced it would begin offering programs at TRC-Kennett in January.

Central Methodist classes leading to bachelor’s degrees in Accounting, Psychology, and Special Education will be offered at TRC-Sikeston, 1400 S. Main in Sikeston, beginning the week of Jan. 17.

The programs are designed for students who have or will complete their associate degree from TRC and want to pursue a CMU bachelor’s program, according to Karen Lovette, CMU regional site coordinator.

Lovette and other CMU staff will visit the TRC-Sikeston regularly, or by appointment. She can be reached by calling 573-840-9010 or by e-mail.

CMU personnel also can assist prospective students interested in any of CMU’s online degrees. They include bachelor’s programs in Accounting, Applied Behavior Analysis, Applied Science in Management, Business, Child Development, Computer Science, Criminal Justice, Early Childhood Education, Education Studies,

Elementary Education, General Studies, Health Sciences, Interdisciplinary Studies, Nursing (Registered Nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing), Public Administration, Psychology, Sociology, and Sports Management. Many credit hours earned by TRC students will transfer into CMU online programs, Lovette noted.

CMU online graduate programs include the Master of Science in Math, and the Master of Science in Nursing (Nurse Educator option and Clinical Nurse Leader option).
